This guide will be short and sweet. In fact, the title of this guide says it all. Do NOT buy a used version of the Nintendo DS game "Pokemon Ranger." The problem with this is that Pokemon Ranger offers exclusive content in an endgame scenario with a "secret mission" that only becomes available after you've successfully completed the game.

This exclusive content is the ability to receive a special egg that hatches the legendary Pokemon called "Manaphy." There is no other way to receive this Pokemon in any other game, other than cheating or hacking. Also, if you have purchased one of the new versions of the Pokemon game, Diamond or Pearl, you can transfer your legit Manaphy and breed it with a Ditto, in order to create Phione games. Phione is yet another Pokemon that is only available this way or through cheats.

Use caution when purchasing even proclaimed "new" versions of the game on Ebay. Make sure that you are, in fact, buying a brand new game, factory sealed.
