You can get several different types of Neti Pots, the most common being Ceramic and Plastic although Stainless and Copper are included in this guide also. This is a guide to the different types and their benefits/disadvantages.

The best I have found is stainless steel, it will last for quite some and if you rinse and dry it after use it will not rust, they also hold a very good amount of water and has a tapered tip(the one i have does anyway). They are available at a good price of $16-20 and are very sturdy, (I have had mine for 3 years now).

It is a bit bulky to take on a trip so you may want to get one of the very many types of...

Plastic pots, while light and very good for travel, some may not hold much water. typically pretty cheap though, about $10.

Ceramic pots are alright, however they can collect bacteria since they are porous(I had to throw one out because it got too rank no matter I tried to clean it and I certainly did NOT want bacteria flowing through my upper sinus cavities), some don't hold much water and of course being ceramic they are fragile. The tip of the spout isn't usually tapered and can make a mess of things for first time users.

Copper neti pots are okay, however being copper they tarnish and they are usually expensive, typically $30 or more.

You can find a wide variety of pots on eBay, I suggest checking Google with "neti pot" as you can make an informed choice as what to bid on here.

MAKE SURE the pot comes with instructions on how to use it if you haven't used one before! You can make yourself feel like you are drowning if you don't know what you are doing and may be turned off to this great device.

Also, make sure to use natural NON-iodized salt, NOT Iodized(usually referred to as table salt), however check the label to be sure!
