If you are considering purchasing Nero 7 software; I would like to share with you a mistake that I made in my purchase. I hope sharing my experience will assist others in avoiding problems.
I own the full version of Nero 6. When I built and purchased my custom-made computer, the software was bundled with the CD-DVD burner. I use the software mostly for backing up my data and to burn CD's of multimedia for teaching. The Nero 6 software has an online upgrade notice. After I had used it for a year, I decided to follow the instructions on the program and purchase a new edition - Nero 7.
Here is what I learned after I purchased the download:
1. I cannot download it because I have a dial up connection. So I have no new Nero 7 software.
2. Nero, Inc. will not refund my money, even though I made my purchase with a credit card. I have to go through a lengthy process with my credit card company. I still may not be able to receive a refund.
3. Numerous complaints about the Nero 7 software have been posted on Amazon.com.
From now on, I will not assume that the upgraded versions of software will work just as well as the previous versions. If it is possible, I will avoid downloading software from the internet and I will carefully consider the capabilities of my internet connection. It is best to have the actual disks and manuals that go with the software, especially if the software has to be re-installed later on. I will read reviews about the software, before downloading and installing it. I will check with the Better Business Bureau online to see if the company has reputable service and technical support. Lastly, here is my advice for those who still wish to purchase Nero 7: search for a demo version and evaluate whether it will meet your needs and expectations, before you make the decision to buy it.
