I'd like to share my experience with the ebay feedback rating system. I have been on ebay for going on three years, and I look at feedbacks, and leaving feedbacks differently now than when I started. I have a 100% feedback rating, so I believe I am a good judge of this system.
I once left a bad feedback after receiving a golf club that was not described very well. The seller was not happy with me and asked why I didn't give him a chance to make me happy. I never thought about that. I then sold a club where I had not looked closely enough at the shaft. There was bag wear on the shaft, and when the buyer received the club he was not happy with my description. Instead of him leaving me a negative feedback, he called me. We worked it out, I made him happy, and he left me a positive feedback. Now I understand the process better. I also learned that how people rate the product they are selling isn't standard. How I judge the condition of what I'm selling may not be the same as what you think. So when you do rate the product you are selling, always be as accurate as possible, and use pictures to document your rating.
I will say this though...I did purchase a driver the other month, and the seller described it as AWESOME and OUTSTANDING. I purchased the club, but received a club that was in good condition, but far from AWESOME & OUTSTANDING. After I received the club I realized I had not checked this person's feedback. I found several other feedbacks saying this person described the product better than actual. I didn't give the guy a chance to make things better, he had a history of over doing his discriptions. I left him a nutral feedback.
