Neck and Neck is a series of eight volumes of graphic novels or manwha (the Korean version of manga) by Sun-Hee Lee and published by Tokyopop. It is a modern-day Romeo and Juliet style romance but with comedic overtones. The heroine, Dabin Choi, is a girl transferring schools to be with her unrequited love interest, Eugene, and she discovers that a childhood friend turned enemy is also a classmate.
Dabin Choi's father runs a powerful crime organization in Seoul. Eugene's dad is a friend and business partner of Dabin's father, and he looks at Dabin as a little sister to her chagrin. Her classmate/enemy Shihu is the son of a rival syndicate leader.
The characters are multi-dimensional and interesting, and the artwork is very good and attractive. There is action, energy, excitement, and humor as well as romance. The books are rated for older teens.
