Whether you are searching ebay for Shea Butter, Almond Oil, Palm oil, or other natural oils and butters keep these in mind: What season are you searching in? If you are searching in the winter months, you probably will not have any problems shipping most oils and butters, but if you are shipping in the summer time, remember that oils and butters that are normally close to , or are solid , wil be liquid. Check the melting point before purchasing. And if the information is not listed in the description, ask your seller about how to use the product when it arrives. And make sure the product you are buying will still be stable and usable after it becomes solid again. Take Shea Butter for example. If you ship Shea buttter out of Florida in June through Septmeber- chances are when you get the Shea butter it will have melted in transit. If you are going to use it in a blend to make a moisturizer, you need to know how to reconstitute it so it is not grainy in your formulation. Otherwise your customers may be unhappy with your end product.
On another topic- if you are buying any oils or butters, make sure you are buying inventory that is fresh and has been kept in coditions best suited for that particular oil. Most natural oils store best in cool places, in opaque containers. Most will stay fresh anywhere from 6 months to 1 year if kept properly. Also keep in mind that real natural oils and butters will not have a preservative or antioxidant in them to help keep them from spoling. So again it is important that your seller store them properly before shipping them to you.
