Hello,
Once again i decided i would get involved in the one thing i enjoy most and that is collecting nascar die cast we have been in this , my wife and me for over 15 years so we have alot knowledge and even had a successful business in the diecast industry but everyone no's what happend they flooded the market and it was all over for alot of us .
I allways say that a collectable is only wourth what you are willing to pay for it, i don't never look at book price because mostly there wrong i have seen some go for more then book but mostly alot of it's way off so never trust the guides like beckett or diecast diegest great articles but the pricing is off even though beckett is closer.
Now the general ideal on e-bay is to get that favorite diecast for cheap thats allways my goal, and one of my secrets is no pic even though you want to see what you are buying if the person has a good feedback then 75% of the time I'll buy them or bid on them and win 90% of the time and good cars to I have picked up some great diecast Earnhardt Gordon Jr starting at $5 to no more then $15 and i am talking good pieces Action Revell club pieces, so try this little secret and hay you could bid against me, but i am not easily beaten.
Have been asked several times who makes the best cars Action, Revell,Team Caliber, well back in the Day when diecast was a really taking off and in my opion that was after the Silver car of Earnhardts come out and i mean it boomed my favorite was the Revell Collection pieces , Action had the market and to get good diecast of your driver you bought Action , then revell came in and seat a new standard low #'s beautiful pieces and at first the were just on the bases then they started putting them in cases they were sharp but like allways action bought them out , now in my opion Team Caliber is awesome great detail and low #'s but just like 15 years ago Action is still the collectors choice.
Collecting now adays is allright it took Action 7 or 8 years to figure out that low #'s meant big money for the diecast industry but in that time alot people don't collect no more i mean alot of people when they bough there diecast thought hay i am getting something special maybe one day i can resale and make some money but of course the industry got greedy and over produced and hurt the dealers and collectors and the industry cooled off and so did the collector, now with 08 here how is the industry doing and the collectors and dealers , as far as the industry i thank it's tough right now pricess have boomed i don't thank there is a buying freenzy out there just #'s are low which is good but prices are high on e-bay with shipping and the new cars your looking at $65 to $75 a car same with a dealer i still say it will hurt the industry, especially in this economy that we are in so this will be good for us later on us hard core collectors and also the stuff from a 1to 2 years ago are at good prices reasonible my favorite cars to collect from 07 is the COT rare not many made great pieces to get fair prices i am a Stewart fan and thats the jist of my collection but Kyle busch thats the driver to collecct in my opion been picking up pieces here and there those are my tips for this year . I write these guides for fun and for some one new at collecting maybe this will help and as long as i have been in it i try to help people i no my diecast, so if you have any question or anything just contact me through e-bay and if i can help i will i am on here nearly 7 days aweek allways looking for that steal of deal take care and keep them eye's open for that steal of a deal
