For Canada & the United States

Many people have differing opinions as to what to call those 'things' that hold STARBUCKS Cards.
Officially STARBUCKS refers to these items globally as ''CARRIERS''.
However, trying to clarify things, we post these 'suggested' terms, for the items that accompanied them.
As this is a 'work in progress', we will update the lists as time permits.

HOLDER
(Where the card is inserted into a slot- and the card remains partially exposed.)
• FATHER'S DAY 2004- Road Trip Car (red car with string for hanging)
• SPRING / MOTHER'S DAY 2006- Bird's Nest
• SPRING 2007- Lollipops (PLEASE NOTE: This HOLDER contains VIABLE SEEDS which may not be imported into all countries.)
• SUMMER 2007- Summer Porch / UMBRELLA with Picket Fence Card (set of four)

FOLDER
(Where the card is inserted into a pocket, and is covered by a flap. Or the Card is cemented into a folding card.)
• CORE CUP Card- Open Issue WITH POCKET- used for "Valid only in USA" & "Valid only in CANADA" issues

(Where the card is contained within a multi-sided enclosed container.)
• VALENTINE'S DAY 2003- Box of Chocolates Card (box seamed at back edge)
• CHRISTMAS 2003- box open at top- closed with fold over, interlocking flaps- For both Penguins or Doves Card
• CUSTOMIZE A STARBUCKS CARD 2007 Edition ($25 to be pre-loaded)- TWO Different BOXES Exist- DREAM & CREATE

POUCH / POCKET / ENVELOPE
(Where the card is contained in a pocket WITH three seamed sides, and a flap to close the open end.)
• Christmas/ Winter 2005- Red Felt pouch (came with an interior note card)- Used for Skating or Christmas Tree Card
• Christmas/ Winter 2006- Red Felt Pouch (with or without interior note card)- Used for ''Decking the Tree'' Card
• Christmas/ Winter 2007- Red Mitten (came with interior note card)- Used for "Rush Delivery" and "Winter Walk" Cards

CARD / BACKER
The following STARBUCKS Cards, were simply attached with 'rubber cement' to a single piece of card:

• RAY CHARLES Card- Gift Card Issued only contained within a 2 CD Boxed Set
• SHAREHOLDER'S Card 2005
• ICHIRO 262 Card
• ASPIRE 2006 & 2007 Issues- Used for requiting purposes. Believed to be issued only in Canada
