The item I am reffering to is commonly known as the Colombian nail hardener or the German brand nail hardener.  Manufactured in Santa Fe de Bogota, Colombia (or Bogota for short) in a small but industrious cosmetics lab.  This is quite truly the pride of an entire nation.  Colombia is recognized throughout the world  for its quality womens undergarments and cosmetics.  Quimica Alemana stands alone as a brilliant example of Latin American engenuity combined with old world technology.  Sold in most parts of the world, most individuals have a "source", a trusted friend, colleague, or relative that provide them with this product. It is now no longer necessary to wait for that "source" to return from their trip to Colombia to replenish your supply.  It is now readily available in many nail salons or beauty stores.  All you need to do is ask for the product by name.

How to apply the hardener.

There are many ways to apply our nail hardener but in most cases one would recommend you apply according to the manufacturers recommendation. The makers of Esmalte Endurecedor Quimica Alemana recommend that you apply a thin layer to your unpainted nails once a week until you reach to strength and length that you desire.

Some other commonly used methods include applying a thin layer two to three times a week and then maintain the strength of your nails by applying once a week.

You may also use this strengthener as a topcoat or a basecoat during your manicure.

Some individuals in rare circumstances may experience pain or discomfort when they apply the hardener for the first time. This usually indicates that the nails are weak or far too thin for application. This happens when one removes acrylics or has used some from of strong industrial solvent to remove nail polishes or treatments. If you have used this product you may have come across the counterfeit product at one time or another. These are usually found in the round bottle or the older model bottle that fails to have the red circle or UPC symbol on the side. The U.S. Government warns the public not to purchase or use these products for your own safety. The fact is that many of these counterfeits tend to be poorly manufactured or mixed dangerously close to the legitimate counterpart using industrial chemicals never intended to come in contact with humans.  And if thats not enough to keep you away keep in mind recent U.S. Department of States reports that indicate money from counterfeiting go to finance illegal activity as well as terrorist and major criminal enterprises.
