A basic French manicure will give you strong, smooth, and beautiful nails.
Take off old polish using non-acetone remover and cotton balls.
Decide what length is best for your nails. If yours split, chip, or peel easily, short is best. If you have got a lot of length to lose, clip or trim your nails before filing them.
File in one direction only, using a sweeping action and do not file in a back-and-forth direction.Working from the sides to the middle of the nail tip and file down into your side walls(nail edges).
Apply a generous amount of cuticle-remover oil in around the cuticles.
Soak your nails in warm water for at least five minutes. You can put in water a few drops of essential oil or olive oil.
Then very gently push back your softened cuticles with the orange stick.
You may need to trim your cuticles with cuticles trimmer.
Give yourself a hand massage. Remove any excess cream or oil from your nails with warm water and absorbent cotton. If the oil or cream were left, it would react with your nail enamel.
Apply a base coat to your nails and pick your favorite color.
Finishing up with a quick coat of clear polish, however, will extend the life of your French manicure
