Nagakhanya is depicted as a half woman, half cobra with winged shouldersand a cobra-hood hairdress. She is the daughter of Nagas, who are serpents in South-Eastern Asian mythology. Naga Khanya is considered to be rain givers and guardians of water and the riches of the deep. She is the goddess of the three realms who pours her blessing of water on all the realms, She is the bringer of wealth, the ultimate treasure and wisdom represented by the gem or diamond pattern on the back of the cobra's head or the jewel immbedded in Khanya's forehead. Once when Shakyamuni was meditating a storm was reaising so to protect Buddha a Naga removed himself from the lake and covered Buddha's nody in the seven coils and used his seven heads as an umbrella for seven days. After seven days turned into human form for properly revering Buddha. There are also some accounts of Buddhas' past live taking birth as Naga King Bhuridata in sacred river Jumna.
