"The question is whether we are going to offer the
American people real answers and genuine relief or the
same, tired Washington gimmicks and special interest
favors that have failed our families and country for too
long," the Obama memo states. "With his proposal to lift
the moratorium on offshore drilling that, as even the
McCain campaign admits, wouldn’t produce any increase
in resources for years and his gas tax gimmick that
economists agree wouldn’t significantly reduce the price
of gas if at all, John McCain has chosen to offer more of
the same instead of change."
So, we use more of the word "Change," but we get no
solutions.  Here is the socialist solution proposed by the
Dope; "I'll make oil companies like Exxon pay a tax on
their windfall profits, and we'll use the money to help
families pay for their skyrocketing energy costs and other
bills," the Illinois senator said.
Barack Obama is against oil, natural gas, nuclear, and
anything else that isn't wind or solar.  Where is this dope
hiding out?  We can't possibly power our homes and
factories with wind and solar.
Does the dope even know how many products use
natural gas in the manufacturing process?  Glass,
pharmaceuticals, plastics, chemicals, etc.  We pay $13/cf
for gas, Russia pays three dollars per cf.  Our factories
could be outsourced to another country if we don't drill for
natural gas.
McCain’s call for drilling, despite Obama’s rhethoric, is
not “the same” policy and Obama’s criticism rings
hollow.  If anybody sounds like the “same politician,” it’s
Obama this week.
It’s apparent we have a gap at the gas pump.  This week
it’s becoming more apparent that the biggest gap in
American politics is between Senator Obama’s ears.
The House Appropriations
Committee on Wednesday
postponed a previously scheduled
vote on Pennsylvania Republican
Rep. John E. Peterson’s proposal
to lift the ban — perhaps a sign that
the double-barreled push from the
GOP’s leaders has left Democrats
worried that the proposal isn’t the
automatic loser it has been in the
past. “

”But Democrats still control both
the House and the Senate, and the
party in power shows little interest
in expanding production to confront
skyrocketing gas prices —
especially if doing so puts it at
odds with voters concerned about
the environment.”

Thank you Nancy Pelosi!!!!!
Republican John McCain called yesterday for the construction of 45 nuclear reactors by 2030
and pledged $2 billion a year in federal funds "to make clean coal a reality," measures
designed to reduce the United States' dependence on foreign oil.

Continuing to campaign on the energy issue, McCain said the 104 nuclear reactors operating
around the country produce about 20 percent of the nation's annual electricity needs.

"Every year, these reactors alone spare the atmosphere from the equivalent of nearly all auto
emissions in America. Yet for all these benefits, we have not broken ground on a single nuclear
plant in over 30 years," he said. "And our manufacturing base to even construct these plants is
almost gone. We will need to recover all the knowledge and skills that have been lost over three
stagnant decades in a highly technical field."
What does the dope suggest we do?  We should all fart at once
and use the hot air to warm ourselves and to power the wind
turbines.

The dope says he will decrease our carbon emissions to 80%
below 1999 levels by investing just 150 billion a year for ten
years.  This sounds just as stupid and ignorant as his
socialized health care scheme.

Here is what the dope says on his website:
Obama’s comprehensive plan to combat global warming and
achieve energy
security will:
⇒ Implement an economy-wide cap-and-trade program to
reduce greenhouse gas
emissions to the level recommended by top scientists to avoid
calamitous impacts.
⇒ Invest $150 billion over the next ten years to develop and
deploy climate friendly
energy supplies, protect our existing manufacturing base and
create millions of
new jobs.
⇒ Dramatically improve energy efficiency to reduce energy
intensity of our
economy by 50 percent by 2030.
⇒ Reduce our dependence on foreign oil and reduce oil
consumption overall by at
least 35 percent, or 10 million barrels of oil, by 2030
⇒ Make the U.S. a leader in the global effort to combat climate
change by leading a
new international global warming partnership.

Again, why would anyone vote for this clueless dope?
