Here are some additional instructions/tips for making super fluffy mulberry paper tear bears. I've been experimenting with all kinds of mulberry paper and techniques and will write up new ideas to share as they are discovered! You can find all of the needed supplies and also free tear bear instructions my "Mulberry Mom's" ebay store.
1.) Use thick or xtra thick handmade mulberry paper for your tear bears. Note that not all mulberry paper is acid free so be sure to check with your seller or store before purchasing mulberry paper for use in your scrapbooks.
2.) Tear out two sets of your pattern pieces making the second set just slighlty smaller than the first. (Sample layered tear Bear Bunny below) When you assemble your tear bear, arrange (layer) the smaller mulberry paper bear pattern on top of the larger pattern. This will give you a dimemsional fluffy look. Make sure to only chalk the edges of the larger pattern pieces for added depth.
3.) When using xtra thick mulberry paper you can achieve a super fluffy tear bear by "peeling off" the first top layer of each pieces and then "fluffing" each piece with a toothbrush. Peeling off the first layer of mulberry paper loosens up the fibers but still leaves enough on your thick mulberry paper for fluffing!
