Today I went out and got a new computer with Vista HP and, I am sadly kind of of disappointed with it. I went into the store with maybe just a glimmer of hope that I would like it and, I should have listened to the sales associate. When I mentioned I was going to put on my Office 2003 he told me said "it may not work because I there has been some compatibility issues." I was like "it's Microsoft I am sure they have fixed that by now!" then he said that don't expect to get any additional software like you were able to 3-4 years ago, Microsoft was sued for being a monopoly so they didn't include any bundled items" right there I should have listened and put the machine back but my excitement got the best of me so, I gleefully took the machine home with me.

When I turned on the machine for the first time it took almost 5-6 minuets just to get through the start-up process I made a sandwich during this period of time. When I finally made it to the desktop I was like "ok now what" so I clicked on the taskbar to see what was on it and to my dismay there wasn't really nothing . You get a 60 day trial of Norton (just what I always wanted not!), you get a Vonage trial (zzzzZZZzz) and some other adds and ends programming not even worth writing about. What makes me more upset about this program is it's constant pop ups asking me questions if I really want to change or do something or not. I am still trying to find my new computer on my network with my computer with XP Pro on it which will require me to go read up on it so I cant say that’s it user friendly. I am surrounded by widget like items on the right hand of my screen which can be useful I suppose but it just makes it look more cluttered I think. The switching between windows is cool but if you don't have enough memory in your computer this defiantly could slow things down ALOT! The control panel is more littered with items I am sure a person who hasn't had a lot of experience with computer would never touch. One item that gets me in particular is People near me were I guess you can talk to people on your network but, what if the person is still running XP then what? another useless item. I think.

In all I am not overly impressed with it I think I am going to be sticking to my XP Pro for awhile and take off the Vista. I just don't think I am in the mood to go through things not being compatible and its going to be some time before Vista SP1 is going to come out I am sure of that. Stick with your XP don't go out and buy it until they make there changes.

I hope this helped you in your decision to purchase this item. If you like a lot of eye candy it's defiantly for you but, if your the person who like to have a lot of variety in your programming then it's defiantly not for you.
