So I've listed my Canon GL2 for the second time. The first time the reserve was not met. All was great this time, the reserve was met quickly (with two days left in the auction!) When the winning bid came in I was happy to see it was someone within 5 miles of where I live.
I went to email the winning bidder, only to find out that within minutes of the end of the auction that the profile had been removed! I had already sent out the invoice with my email and an offer to meet to avoid shipping costs.
The following day I received an email from a woman (The winning bidder was a man) asking to send the camera to Nigeria and that she would provide $400 shipping. I sent back an email stating that I do not ship outside of the US and that payment would need to be made within 24 hours or I would cancel the entire "transaction." I then filed a failure to pay notice on Ebay and talked to a customer service representative who suggested I relist or offer second chance offers to the other non-winning bidders. My final value fee was waived.
Of course nobody was interested afterwards so I relisted the camera AGAIN! This was getting to be expensive! Ebay does not reimburse for the insertion fees! My camera recently sold AGAIN, and again from a buyer outside of the US. We'll see how this one goes.
