Left Behind Series

Today (May 10) I finished my last book of the series.  This is a wonderful series and I highly recommend it to all people, Christian and non-believers alike. If this does not make you a believer - nothing will.  This series has given me a greater understanding of the book of Revelations.  I can actually put a picture with some of the symbolic wording of the book.  Building on previous studies of Revelations and a con-current study, I think this book is a great asset to Christians and non-Christians alike.

Non-fiction

These books are well worth reading, along with the Bible, in conjunction with the Left Behind series.  They will give you a deeper understanding of the events that occur (fictionally) in the books.

Are We Living In The End Times?: Non-fiction Biblical account of the “End Times” and the stages of the ages of the world.  We are living in the Pre-Rapture period.  The Rapture may occur at any moment, before you finish this as – “no man knows my coming, only God himself.”

The Rapture:  A non-fiction book containing the theories of the occurrence of the Rapture: Pre-Trib, Mid-Trib, and Post-Trib.  The author and I firmly belong in the Pre-Tribulation category.  This book is a little repetitive, but well worth reading in adjunct to the Left Behind series.

Fiction

The authors have done a great job in visualizing the prophetic events of the Bible.  Everything is believable and scripturally based.  I highly recommend this series for those seeking to understand Revelations. The Rising:  Prequel to the series.  The Antichrist is born.  We find out background on Steele and Buck.

The Regime:  Prequel to the series. We learn how Nicolae started his rise to power.  Continue to discover the Tribulation Force before they become the Trib Forces.  We learn their backgrounds and what will lead them to becoming saved.

The Rapture: Another prequel to the Left Behind series.  We learn what may occur during the Rapture, including what heaven may be like, and the aftermath of it’s occurring.

 Left Behind: The Rapture occurs leaving millions wondering where they went.  A handful of churchgoers realize that Jesus called his children home and they did not have true salvation.

Tribulation Force: Occurs weeks after the Rapture.  The Tribulation Force is formed with four of the left behind.  Carpathia signs a treaty with Israel ushering in the seven year Tribulation.  Jesus opens the first and second seal of the scroll.

Nicolae:Set two and a half years since the last book.  The book may be called Nicolae, but it is more about the Trib Force.  A great Internet following leads a lot of people to Christ.

Soul Harvest: The last seal judgement is released as a massive worldwide earthquake devastates the Earth.  The Trib Force loses and gains several new members .  The first three trumpet judgements are released - hail, fire and blood from the sky destroying one third of the trees and all the grass, a metorite that hits in the sea causing one third of the sea to be turned to blood and one third of the fish to be killed, and a metorite called Wormwood that broke apart in the atmosphere and poisoned one third of the fresh water sources.  

 Apollyon:  Follows very closely to Revelations.  The world is increasing unrepentant and sinful.  A trumpet judgment is released on unbelievers, horrible locus-like creatures who stings grow worse and worse and last for a five-month period.  People suffer and suffer and beg to die, but even suicides are not allowed.  This is biblical! 

Assassins:  Entering into the mid-point of the Tribulation period, the two witnesses are murdered and Nicolae is assassinated.

The Indwelling: Continues hovering in the Mid –Trib period.  The Antichrist is raised and becomes Satan incarnate.  Our Trib Force remains active in leading others to Christ and publishing the truth.  Enter into the Great-Tribulation period.

The Mark: The Antichrist is risen and is indwelled with Satan.  He plans to desecrate the Temple and break the treaty with Israel.  Carpathia declares himself god and Leon institutes Carpathism and they plan to institute loyalty marks on the heads or foreheads of his believers.  Believers are beheaded when they refuse to take the mark of the beast.

Desecration: Nicolae breaks the treaty with Israel ushering in the last three and a half years of the Tribulation, or the Great Tribulation.  Seas are turned to blood.

The Remnant: This book takes us from the desecration of the Temple to approximately one year before the Glorious Appearing occurs. Several bowl judgements are released.  Fresh water turns to blood also, but not for the believers!  Next the sun scorches the earth and bushes and houses catch fire, yet the believers can go outside unharmed.  A few days after that judgement is removed, the Antichrist's kingdom (New Babylon) goes completely dark.

Armageddon: The Antichrist moves all his armies to the Middle East to analiate the opposing forces - the Christians and Jews who are in Petra or are holed up in Jerusalem. Tsion and Buck leave the safety of Petra to go to Jerusalem to witness - many are saved. The book ends with the start of the battle to end all battles - but really there will be one more when Satan is released at the end of the Millennium to move the unsaved to battle again with Jesus and his forces.   Jews are being persecuted and tortured to the point of death. The Tribulation Force is spread out over the world. A key member gets caught and leads the GC Forces on a wild goose chase to find the others.

Glorious Appearing: Moves from start of the war at Petra and Armageddon all the way to the appearance of Christ and the setting up of his kingdom.  Billions of GC Forces are slaughtered all over the world.

Kingdom Come:  The sequel to the book - not the best book.  Occurs in the Millennium Kingdom where Christ comes and rules on Earth as a human.  There are people who rebel even though the Satan is bound in the pit and unable to sin.  This shows the innate sinfulness of man.  Israel is the capital of this kingdom and Jews are it's favored people.  Not as much action as the previous books, but wraps up the tail end of the prophecy - Jesus' reign and the creation of the new Heaven and Earth.
