I never thought I would be writing this but I feel it is necessary and time to reinstate the Military Draft. I feel that we need to get the President and Congress to reinstate the Military Draft!I am writing this guide so you can encourage people to support this effort where you live.

I feel the new draft law should include everyone who lives and enjoys the freedom this country has to offer. It should include people of all ages and all walks of life!

I would love to do two or three more years for my Country even as a U.S.Navy Hospital Corpsman. I was one of the best Sick Call corpsman and shot administers at NAS.Groose Ile. I gave thousands of shots to Sailors,Marines and their dependents even little babies. I filled in for the Navy Nurse when she went on leave. I can still do all that even better now with some life experience under my belt.There are many people out there in my age bracket who have a lot to offer this Country and it would be cheaper and healthier for everyone if they were allowed to return to Military duty in some capacity that would provide a real Service.

We could also provide returning youth veterans from the Iraq war with an individualized advocacy service that would help them through the bureaucratic steps of the veterans service programs.Most of us have had to deal with this system over and over and realize to get results it is often like dripping water on a stone.  All the politicians ever do is talk about what they are going to do and lest we forget it was I believe the end of War I where the troops of wounded and disabled vets so called Bonus Army marched on Washington DC for help from the Federal Government and the insensitive Republican President Hoover called out the Troops to fire on the disabled Vets and their families.Most of the young people in this country are too dummed down by the baloney on TV and blogs to have studied this history or any history to have knowledge of this tragic story in America's History. It actually happens everytime the Veterans come home and this time it is no different many of them finally die in quiet desperation at their own hand.

This new draft should not stop there it should include everyone,especially those people who never had the chance to serve because of their wealth, career path, or prison. Everyone including the very wealthy would be drafted to Serve in some capacity! Including Bill Gates,Ophra Wimphry, and others.People who havn't Served would be higher up on the Draft.

 Even former Presidents.I think also any one doing time in prisons would be given the option to serve if their Crime is not murder or if they are not mentally ill. All would have to go back to boot camp first to be sorted out and shaped up!!!

I think the Army,Navy,Marine Corps,National Guard,Reserves,Coast Guard,All Branches of the military would benefit by this influx of personnel and they would be under whatever Command they are drafted into and follow chain of command!

 The Draft should be used to fill both military and FEMA and other Cabinet needs.It could be used to meet a host of worldly Peaceful endeavors as well. We need something even bigger than the Peace Corps to help repair the Diplomacy damage caused by the current Bush Adminstration,Media and others.

The positive efforts of the many will overcome the bad publicity of the few. Jerry Springer and others like him should be the first one sent to Iraq because of their U.S.A. degrading shows.

All Draftee should be given the opportunity to assist in the following areas.

Veterans Clinics and service offices

Schools

Natural Disasters

Red Cross

Salvation Army

Distribute Food

Fight Famine

Peace Corps

Service Corps

Faith Based Initiatives

Adaptions to climate change

Work in Food kitchens

Build homes

Repair Homes

Fix highways

Rebuild the Railroads throughout the Country

Work in Nursing homes and Rehab hospitals

Restore the infrastructure for the War on Poverty!

The Job Corps,Neighborhood Health Centers,Title One,Title III and many other effective social programs. 

I am sure you can think of other individual assignments where you would be willing to serve. Everybody could sign up to do some thing a speciality they are really familure with.

Yes, even fight in Iraq if necessary I really hate seeing those young boys and girls killed over there who have hardly had a chance to live.I know a lot of older gun show guys and gun nuts who would love to go over there and do their thing it would be a lot better than what some of them are doing now!!!

Let them work that anger and hate out of their system,believe me they will soon tire of the smell of blood and war and will tire of holding their dying and wounded comrades in their arms! Most of the people who have really served their country in combat do not want to have anything with a weapon once they get out!

I am really sincere there is no reason why this NEW Draft Plan couldn't be passed ASAP!!!!!

Update: Senator Dodd is making a similar proposal for a Universal Service, I think it should be a Universal Draft.

If you like the idea or have something to add copy it add your suggestions and send to the President, Your Presidential hopefulls and Senators and Congressmen!!! It might evern work with the volunteer system.
