Well christmas is on its way and so are the next generation of game systems. Now your child may have asked for one of these amazing game boxes but what else should one buy to insure they are not left wanting more under the tree? Well here are some basics that will help you out:
Nintendo Wii:
A great system for the younger crowd and the older alike.
Competitive price point of $249.99 in comparison to the Playstation 3 at $500 and $600!! And the xbox 360 at $300 and $400
Wireless Wiimote controller looks similiar to a tv remote making it user friendly and the magical part is that you wave the little device in the air to control the on screen characters movements! This feature sets it aprt from the other systems as well. The console itself is smaller in size comparably and classy looking to boot! Comes in white at launch but other colors sure to follow. Does NOT PLAY DVDS! But Nintendo is known for great family orientated games and also provides other mature titles to suite everyones needs.
Launch titles of choice are of course the new Legend of Zelda a must have for the system, the game has been in development for a few years and Zelda as a frachise has proven to be an exceptional franchise. A quality game, with cinematic gameplay, adventure, and all age approved game play! Call of Duty 3 a military based shooter would be a great choice for the older crowd. Other games available day one include:
Red Steel a mature samurai and shooting game
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz a arcade type puzzle game with many fun mini-games
Madden Football for the sports fan
Trauma Center a surgery type simulator but early reviews suggest it may be a must have!
Theres many others available day 1 but if you want to be on the safe side picking up a Wii and Zelda would most definetely be your best bet. And dont forget a nice addition would of course be an extra controller, a set of batteries, strategy guide, and even a few gamecube games as they will be fully playable on the system as well!
