Hi, As a designer, manufacturer and seller of 2nd Nature Art Stamps 2nd Nature Arts Store , I am often asked by customers how to mount unmounted stamps. There are several ways to mount rubber stamps but this guide is going to cover using acrylic blocks to temporarily mount stamps. Acrylic blocks are becoming more popular because the stamps themselves take up less storage room because they only have a foam backing.  One acrylic block can be used with any stamp that will fit on it rather than each stamp having it's own permanent mount. I have converted all my stamps to this form of mounting. Using clear acrylic mounts has the added benefit of being able to see the placement of the stamp better and you can stamp with more than one stamp on the same acrylic block at the same time. This really comes in handy if you are spelling out words with alphabet stamps. You can spell out the whole word on one block and stamp them all at once.

1. Mounting stamps is easy with a couple of basic tools and materials.

You will need:
Unmounted rubber stamp
Mounting foam with adhesive on one side and static cling vinyl on the back mounting supplies
Sharp scissors (if possible Kai Scissors are the best)
Xacto type knife with sharp blade
Acrylic mounting block that will fit your stamp

2. First you will take your scissors and trim your rubber stamp as close as possible to the design without cutting into the design.

3. After you have trimmed the stamp remove the paper cover sheet of the adhesive side of the mounting foam. Place the back of the stamp on the adhesive of the mounting foam making sure the whole stamp back is on the foam.
4. Using the knife trim the mounting foam to the edge of the rubber stamp. The mounting foam can actually be slightly larger than the stamp and this will ensure that the stamp edge is fully supported by the foam.

5. After you have finished trimming the mounting foam you can now remove the paper cover on the back side of the foam exposing the static cling surface. Place the stamp (static cling back) on the acrylic block and you are ready to use your stamp. Store your stamps in something like a baggy or storage pockets made to store these stamps. This will keep the cling part of the foam clean.

If after you have used the stamp several times and you find that you are having trouble getting the stamp to stick to the acrylic block. Try lightly moistening the cling side of the stamp. It should readily stick to the acrylic block.
2nd Nature Arts sells the rubber stamps, acrylic mounts and the static cling mounting foam at reasonable prices in the store. 2nd Nature Arts Store
