Just had to share this experience with y'all so you don't get the heartache and hassle I did here recently. I sold a very nice HD Motorcycle to a gentleman out of Florida. I have had an aversion to shipping ANY motor vehicle due to past BAD experiences. The buyer, however, was quite convincing and we made an arrangement to ship via HAUL BIKES.COM..WHAT A MISTAKE!!!!! The transport was at my business at the time agreed and that's where the good ended...kinda sad, isn't it? The driver did the pre-ship inspection and noted any flaws (very few) The bike was put on the liftgate and the driver and myself went to the cab to get a business card. I was impressed at their promptness...GO FIGURE! Any way, I walked around the front of the truck to the entrance to my shop where the rear of the trailer was located. The driver was beginning his ascent on the liftgate to the second level. I watched for a minute, then went inside to close up shop. As I was leaving, I again paused to watch the loading. The bike and driver were at the top of the second level and the driver was beginning to push the machine in. I left. Less than 15 minutes later, I received a call from the shipper stating that there was a problem..that the bike had fallen over and, GET THIS!!!, it was my fault!!! I tried to explain to a fella named PAUL that that was not accurate. He didn't want to hear it, said his driver says something different. Again I gave him the events in the order I have just given you. He then told me, and I quote, "...guess it's a matter of she-said-he-said.. I was livid. I tried to explain again...then the SOB hung up on me. NOW I ASK YOU: IS THIS ANY WAY TO TREAT A CUSTOMER???? We all mess up at some time, but this attempt at FRAUD just to save paying for the repairs is not acceptable. Bottom line...I had the pre-inspection papers and the bill of laden in my hands. It was their responsibility from that point on.....BUT BOLD FACED LIES AND FALSE ACCUSATIONS have never set well with me. I beg you to re-consider if you are now or will be looking for motorcycle transport in the future. THIS IS NOT WHO YOU WANT HANDLING YOUR MACHINES.....
