Seen in the photo is 6 valves "USED" or is it really 2 Valves ,Now are the valves Good ,Bad or What ? Would you start bidding on two valves thinking you were going to get 6 ? maybe Bidding starts at $5.00 and shipping is $15.00 .  Still want to Bid ? Use Pay pal ? Maybe get into a bidding war with some "NUT" that wants them real bad and will up the bids to $35.00 FOR TWO valves .When the Two valves have a buy now for $39.95. Are the Valves Hard to come by or impossible to get ? Maybe out of a 1942 BMW M75 ?   "Well they are NOT ! What IS Wrong with this picture ? First of all no one would rebuild a engine with used valves if new replacements could be found at a Parts Dealer ! The job is to much work to invest time in using Used valves, moreover at the price of new.  I think most of the people that get wrapped up in Bidding on Parts never checked out the Web for Parts suppliers (new or used) ,if they did they would not be bidding on a EZ to find parts and spending Almost or More then what they cost "OEM NEW" . The only reason to bid on a used "USED" part at a Auction is you want to SAVE MONEY or the part is no longer made ! Thats right people Save Money ,not get into the fun of a bidding war ,just to feel like you won ! In Fact you lost ! If you did not check out what you wanted to get from a competitive dealer before going bidding stupid . How to loose bidding on parts ! I see people bidding on things like a Tall wind screen for a Kawasaki KLR 650 ,maybe New but not in the box ,or Used for 900 miles "listed as nice condition " The bidding war starts and soon the bids are $80 ,some times more and some times a little less "Little is a key word hear" Or maybe a BUY Now at $90 , All these stupid bids do not include Shipping and extra pocket cash for the seller .So on the $90 buck wind screen we are talking maybe $120 . with no warrentee . Shipping Partal post ,no insurance . If you get it broken thats your problem ! If you wanted a Taller wind screen and would have spent some time checking out KLR web sights you would have found some real fare prices on such a item and the cheapest dealer had a better Quality part than any of the ones I have seen up for auction or buy now . At a Dealer "NEW" KLR tall wind screen With extra support Brace "better than auction ones",$75.00  S&H $6 .00  UPS with insurance in the box with install bolts ,papers ,etc. WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU BUY ONE AT AUCTION IN WHO KNOWS WHAT CONDITION FROM SOME ONE YOU DON'T KNOW ,OUT OF THEIR BACK YARD BARN AND PAY MORE THAN 1/2 THE COST OF NEW thats "NEW" . Unless you can save real money on a part at auction ,save $4 thats not real money ! Stop going bidding stupid . I found the same part but better Quality that Foolish buyers are paying $ 70 plus $15 shipping on for $81 including UPS insured shipping at a dealer . Another Case KLR Plastic side covers "RED color common as dirt"". Bidding up to $45 each plus $20 shipping . "USED" scratched some what and or painted another color but not sticking ,HOW STUPID ! You only need to call a local OEM Dealer and order the part NEW ,Thats NEW ! its not a rare part . Dealer Cost fot that part $56 NEW IN THE BOX not scratched to hell and painted or broken and or bent . Even if the Auction part was $36 ea and shipping was free "and you never see that ",for $20 more you could have NEW not scratched to hell and painted another color and or broken . People check out other deals before you go bidding nuts & stupid . I have a motorcycle junk yard with in 60 miles and can buy Used side covers for $15 each $10 if I remove them my self . Dirty and scratch to hell but so what at least they are not painted another color . The max you should pay for a KLR Red Side Cover at auction plus shipping in like new condition should be about $40 **MAX** keep in mind you can go to a OEM dealer and get one for $56 plus state tax say $58  , You are only saving $18 ,thats not much .considering the hassel of dealing with someone that might not be selling a part thats not like new and shipping US mail and your part might be shipped to some one else .And tough crap your out of luck you did not pay extra for insurance . LAST CASE ! Tires ! Why would anyone pay more for tires at auction or buy now, When they can get them for at one of the fine Mail order Aftermarket Outfits seen in the pages of all motorcycle magazines or In my location I have one of the largest Motorcycle Aftermarket Dealers in the Midwest just a short drive away . Also they will install and balance if I ride the bike in and I will still be $20 or more cheaper including tax for a set of 60/40 KLR tires and if blemished seconds $40 cheaper than any Buy Now Auction I have ever seen . Usually I see Tire sets going for $199 and with a big shipping profit tacked on . Even more with insurance ,and UPS insurance is Free to the user! What a Joke on the buyer. I can get KLR first rate MOFO tires for $95 each & $105 each (front &rear),Thats $200 for the set Mail Order , Free shipping . from a Mail order dealer .Also they go through Tires like Grant through Richmond so you are going to get New Tires not Old ones .A word on NEW but OLD Tires  , Tires get hard with age and riding a Motorcycle on tires that are Old is just asking for handling and stopping problems . Tires that are 8 years old should be scraped out even if the only have a few miles on them ,Don't bet your life on old tires ! So say you Auction bid on or BUY NOW a set of so called NEW tires ,That are really 2 years or more OLD discounted from some import liquadator ,factory bleamish ,seconds guy ,even if you could save $2.00 and you most likely will not .The life of the Tires has already been cut short since they have started to get hard and out of round . The place to pinch penneys is not with Motorcycle tires . This noted , Their is a place for Auction bids ,and thats if you can Win a part or motorcycle *CHEAP* or something thats no longer made .Like a head light bulb for a motorcycle made in the USA by Westinghouse to stick in your Old Indian with a 6 volt system . The ones from JUNK CHINA sell for $29.00 each and I have sold boxes of 6 for $40 at No resurve Auctions . Now thats a Deal .and your Old Indian will be all American inside and out ,all the way .And will get 100 points at the next show . On something like same ,thats the place to go bidding stupid , Not common parts you can buy NEW anyplace . DO your home work before you start the bids read all the details on the item .Think into the price the sellers shipping profits "Most of the time back yard shippers can't get the good UPS deals and the US Mail system flat sucks on big items . Ask Seller lots of questions ,Drive them Nuts  with questions . And Pay Junk prices for Junk . Don't Win Bidding Wars ,thats just plane stupid. Also I know lots of sellers at Auctions that have friends that help them run the bids up for the suckers . If people did not go bidding stupid the Used stuff would not go for more than New from a OEM Dealer . Last thing The Photo is just a set of My Valves not something I am selling or Bid on at Auction .Just a example thats all .also I do not work for a motorcycle dealership  or supplier of or motorcycles or a Junk Yard ,or do I own a dealer ship of same . I just gave up on bidding on motorcycle parts that are priced almost or more than NEW from a local Dealer . Very few things I see are just Fair priced after the stupid bidding War most stuff is out of sight and nothing is a real deal .  AVOID BID WARS ,YOU WILL NOT WIN !  If this helps vote yes ! I might add more later ! WHY BID MORE THAN A BRAND NEW PART ORDERED FROM A LOCAL DEALERSHIP ,I SEE IT ALL THE TIME , AUCTIONS ARE FOR SAVING MONEY NOT WINNING BIDDING WARS .AND MOST OF THE DEALS ARE ONLY A THREE OR FOUR BUCK SAVING ,THATS NOT A DEAL ! HALF PRICE MIGHT BE A DEAL !   Up Date ,I just seen a Used KLR 650 Tall Wind shield Clear ,NO hard were ,NO Paper work and NO warrantee, sell at auction for $76.00 plus $10 shipping , The bid on this was completely Insane and Totaly NUTS . If you KLR people want a  Tall Windshield Just go to "AFRIKA SINGLE" tm. and buy a NEW one in the box and it comes with 2 extra mounts and its wider also The LISTED PRICE in the last cataloge I got a few mounths ago **$73.95** and if I can recall right ,Shipping is less than $10  .I have got aftermarket parts from them and I got my parts in 3 days "NEW IN THE BOX WITH ALL PAPERWORK AND HARDWERE AND WARRANTEE COVERAGE. SAVE MONEY BUY NEW FROM A PRO SHOP ! THE FOOLISH AUCTION BUYER SCREWED HIM SELF . I can't list a E Mail address in this guide its now allowed but the sight is Afrika single is not hard to find hard to find and a lot less time consuming then wasting time looking and bidding on BUY NOW or USED and almost new KLR over bid aftermarket parts . Stop the foolishness ! Save Money ,check out other web listings before you burn yourself in a bidding war . Look at offical and un offical sights .Try your bike type and add AFTERMARKET .Check CLUB sights . Like BMW CLUBS if thats what you have ,lots of stuff for sale  CHEAPER . Also Check out many OEM Dealers on the web (use your search engine),then phone in your order . Once more their are a few good buys at Auction but very few if people want to over bid items just to be a winner ! A UP DATE I did buy a set "TWO" of side covers for a KLR from a E Bay auction .My mistake ,The seller has a E Bay store selling motorcycle parts , His rating was Yellow star . I got the set of covers for $55 plus over priced shipping (I should have passed at $40) ,so I came out at $78 with shipping . That would not be to bad .BUT the parts were clamed to be off a late 2000 year bike with low low miles and  in like new condition .When I recived them they were loose in the box ,bouncing around in shipping . The parts were scuffed up some and dented in in places .The seller has a return policy but I would still pay the total shipping cost . And seller could clam damage in shipment also . The two dents could not be seen in the photo .but a scuff could be seen . The bad scuff was cleaned up with Car rag top plastic window scratch remover .But the dents are their for good .I did look up the cost of dealer new before bidding but forgot shipping issue from Dealer .Dealer New best price on internet $56 each plus $9 shipping or $112 for the set BUT Any sale over $100 free shipping Imissed that point .So I was saving a Big $34 bucks . Not Worth the Risk ! If the parts would have been as clamed ,I would have been OK but the seller misrepresented the parts bad and I lost . Parts Clamed Like NEW ,more like light dents and scuffed up would have bin right . Anyhow The parts are some what better than what is on the bike right now and I can live with them ,But the next time on body parts ,I will not trust E Bay salvage store people at all . This is how you can rate Parts . 1- Like New ,super clean ,or Nice condition off a low mileage well taken care of bike -Means -Just good or slightly better than just usable or scuffed up and dented a little . 2 -Good condition realy Means- Scratched up bad and or discolored ,dirty, deep scratches and some dents that can't be seen in photo -or just a little up from usable . 3 Fare condition realy means almost unusable looks like hell -bent ,broken or missing parts, plastic melted ,split ,reglued ,camo like color or lots of rust if steel. Anything less than Fare condition next- 4 .Usable realy means - SCRAP should discard but selling it on E Bay -might be repairable if buyer is a master of repair magic ,with lots of time to toss a way . Or the part can be used as some thing to go by if you don't have one at all and you can make a copy of it by hand provided you are a master artest making things. 5 Last item if a plastic part has been painted and seller states paint comes off EZ with a high pressure washer since it was not painted right . this is another pure scrap item or Ok to use on a beater dirt bike when looks is not a issue 100% . A bad paint job on soft plastic is harder than that to remove and it was painted to cover up something and a good paint job on soft plastic just stickes at best for a short time and can be cracked and chipped off with little effort when the paint drys out real good .If the right paint and primer is used it might take more than a year or two but It will not last like paint on hard breakable plastic . Maybe more later good luck !
