It is now 2008 and a friend of a friend just got taken by this scam, only the creep was in California instead of Greece. Please keep your eyes open.

Unfortunately, I got taken by the "my Goldwing is in Greece" scam and it cost me $5500.00. The perp had appropriated somebodies real Ebay account and listed the bike at a too good to be true price. I bit like a carp, borrowed the money, which I am still paying back, and sent it to him via AmEx. He had a link to Fair Trade in his first response to me, which I stupidly followed instead of going to the link in the Ebay home page. Of course this got me a "what a good fellow" response.

Please don't be fooled the way I was.
