Greetings
When you are looking for a bike while browsing E Bay,watch out for the deals that seem too good to be true ! Most folks on E Bay are really great people, especially the bikers who ride and build American Iron.
There are some Con Artists who are defineatly NOT bikers, who are looking for easy prey.I have had the deliterious experience of getting stung on a bike deal,
Seen a Harley listed at auction. Pics were really poor, kind of too dark, etc.Contacted the seller and he told me more pics would be sent.Couple days later, got the pics and they were just as dark as the ones shown in listing.Guy tells me his camera is kind of poor and that the bike is in really good shape.
Win the bike,go to pick it up and it was in extremely poor condition. Bike had been laid down hard on the primary side and had road rash ALL over it.What I consider GOOD condition and what HE considered GOOD condition was not even close.
Guy was really upset that I would not take the bike.Threats all kinds of erratic and bizare behavior.Ended up taking the dude to court and letting a judge decide what was GOOD condition. Judges percption was nearer to mine than to his, still it was one hell of a hassle getting this all settled !
Beware of bike listing with poor quality pics ! Pics are poor and dark, just pass on by the listing and save yourself ALOT of problems ! You do decide to request more pics from seller, make sure they are high quality, showing all views possible of bike BEFORE bidding to win.
Watch out for parts listings too ! I have seen parts for harleys listed and they are really cheap stuff made overseas, just copies of original parts.
Hope this will help you avoid being ripped off by some con artist who likes to list parts and bikes!
