If you are travelng to Paris, France anytime soon...(weather permitting) I highly recommend the FAT TIRE BIKE TOUR as something to do!... I was unsure of what to expect...as riding a bike around the crazy streets of Paris sounded intimidating... AND I didn't want to spend the evening with a bunch of serious "Tour de France" bikers...since I last rode a bike 20 years ago!... Well...what a pleasant surprise this was!... You meet under the south leg of the Eiffel tower and take a short walk to the companys office.  It is owned and operated by a bunch of young Americans  (20 somethings) and everyone speaks english.  You get your bike and they also sell Beer and Bottled water for the ride.  For those with backpacks...they load up the FREE red wine for the Bateau Mouche (river boat) trip that is part of the EVENING bike tour.  You ride in a group of 15 or so riders and you are only on the "main" roads for short stints.  A lot of the ride is through park areas, and walkways, bike lanes and it is truly enjoyable.  The night tour is FANTASTIC,  you go through the Latin Quarter ..ride through the Ille de la Cite, stop for ice cream at the famous Berthillon ice cream shop (try the chocolate with raspberry sorbet on top!) and cruise by the Louvre.  All along seeing beautiful landmarks and many lighted statues.  The guides are fun and interject humor and historic stories about the various sights. Finally you go for a 1-hour ride on the Bateau Mouche where did I mention.. FREE wine comes out of the backpacks and everyone relaxes and sees sights such as Notre Dame and the Statue of Liberty all lit up at night.  Plenty of Kodak moments... Fun people... This takes up the entire evening as it is about 4 hours total...I have been flying to Paris for 15 years (I'm also a flight attendant) and this was the MOST FUN experience I've ever had... There was something about riding a bike...all around PARIS at night... perhaps it made me feel a bit like a "local" or maybe I just felt 20 years younger!... Whatever it was it was...I will never forget this enjoyable evening.... MUCH BETTER than sitting on a bus tour!  Great for all ages (Though mostly adults on the night tour)... If you are there by yourself on business...Do IT!  There is also a DAY tour...(I think there is less drinking involved on that one...probably better for families)... Google Fat Tire Bike Tours Paris... They also do walks and segway tours!  Have fun!
