I bidded on a Bose Aviation Headset. I won the bid at $700. I used paypal to buy the headset and noted to seller that he/she should leave me a tracking number when it was shipped. I recieved an odd email reply which made me suspicious. This seller had no transactions and when I check member info for a telephone number registered to the member it was fraud. Oh boy. I contacted Paypal within 12 hours and told them that the sale was going sour. They were only able to recover $500 of the $700 and stated that they were going to pursue this seller. The seller was able to spend $200 before the account could be locked. I left negative feedback to this seller so nobody else falls into this. I will give some time for paypal to get my $200 dollars back and if that don't happen, I will not use Paypal in the future. You would think that Paypal would secure monies better than this by not allowing the payment reciever to spend so close to the transaction.
What have I learned.
I don't bid on items that have no sale history.
I will always check member info on seller and buyer before making transaction
