Since my first ebay guide regarding a fake Taiwanese version of the Head Prestige Pro 600 that I've seen up for auction more than once, I've gotten some inquiries about other early versions of Head's Prestige mid.  First off, I'm unaware of any fakes of any other early Head Prestige mids.  I'm thinking of 3 models here: the mid-80s Prestige Midplus (Euro only, gold-tone frame, different mould than the Prestige Pro, first use of Prestige name by Head); the later mid-80s Prestige Pro (Euro only, all-brown frame, no reference to '600' headsize); and, the early-90s Prestige 600 (global release, gray/silver frame with lime green accenting).  In other words, any of these three versions you now may come across are the genuine Head article.  The Prestige Midplus, while an excellent tennis racquet, gets little play because it's rare, nobody's seen it before, and no pros used it.  Also, it's a different mould from the Prestige Pro, which hadn't yet been released.  One often sees the all-brown Prestige Pro, which features a full CAP bumper and hides frame nicks and scratches very well (important for a 20-year-old frame) due to its dark color.  The PP is a terrific frame, and is perhaps the Platonic take on why the Prestige brand still carries weight these days.  The PP and the PP 600 are playability-wise one and the same; the PP 600 was a later release with more aggressive, distinguishing cosmetics (important because Head wanted credit for all the male pros using it at the time, so it should stand out).  Re: the Prestige 600, your goal should be to score some of the rare lime green CAP bumpers that Head made for this frame, a la Muster.  Happy hitting, and thanks for the inquiries.
