Have you ever wished that your Moleskine Planner or Journal had a notebook or a few extra lines for names or addresses? Or, have you ever thought that adding a notebook to your Sketchbook or Watercolor Journal would be a great place to jot notes or information about your subject?

If so, this simple modification will add a 64-page notebook to your journal that looks great and can be transferred from journal-to-journal. It also gives you the opportunity to create a custom look for your Moleskine, which you can change whenever you like.

Take Advantage of Your Moleskine’s Consistent Design

The simple, consistent design of Moleskine’s notebooks and planners is great for storing and organizing your insights and ideas. But it gets even better. This consistent sizing also offers us a great opportunity to use our notebooks in creative ways, together as a single unit. All of the different types of Moleskine notebooks fall into 1 of 3 categories;

  1. Small Pocket Size
  2. Large
  3. Extra Large

By using a Moleskine Cahier Notebook along with a Moleskine notebook, planner, journal or sketchbook of the same size, you can create an ensemble that is custom made for your needs.

In the photos above, I have added a Customized Cahier Ruled Notebook with a Kraft Cover to my planner. Because the Cahier Notebook and Small Weekly Planner are the same size and shape, the elastic strap from the planner will hold the Cahier in place and the two notebooks work together as if they were one. As my needs change or if I decide to change the cover design, all I have to do is remove the old Cahier and insert a new book. I also use this to help me identify my collection little black books at a distance by using a different design on each cover.

This modification works for all three sizes offered by Moleskine, although in the X-Large size there are only 2 books; the Softcover Planner and the Cahier. The Moleskine Cahier notebooks are offered in both black and kraft cardboard covers which are perfect for embellishing with ink, glazes, metallic paint, photos and almost anything you can imagine. The pages are available with ruled, squared and blank formats giving you lots of opportunities for creating the perfect set.
