The Perfect Combination of Art and Science
Moissanite is a created jewel that was born from a rare geological find made more than 110 years ago. Discovered by French scientist Dr. Henri Moissan (who later became a Nobel Prize winner), Moissanite can trace its origins to particles found in 1893 in the Canyon Diablo meteor crater in Arizona. These natural Moissanite crystals were too scarce and tiny to set into jewelry. For years, scientists tried in vain to re-create these rare and extraordinarily brilliant crystals. Only recently, through the power of advanced technology from the house of Charles & Colvard, is Moissanite now available to you.
How is Moissanite made?
Single-crystal Moissanite is manufactured through a patented thermal growing process, the specifics of which are proprietary. The process is very difficult and expensive, thus preventing mass production. Today, Charles & Colvard, Ltd. is the sole source and global distributor of created Moissanite with patents for the manufacturing process itself, as well as for its use as a jewel.
Every Charles & Colvard created Moissanite jewel is produced within exacting specifications and high quality control standards. Each jewel is hand faceted by a skilled gemstone cutter to create its maximum brilliance and enhance Moissanite's exceptional fire. Only near-colorless Moissanite graded as VG very good and eye-clean is available for sale.
The favorite shape for Moissanite is Round, however, Moissanite is also available in most of the fancy shaped cuts such as Princess and Cushion. We offer the new Square Brilliant or modified Princess cut because it has more fire and sparkle than the traditional Princess cut and is higher on the color grading scale.

During the development of moissanite jewels, extensive real-world wear tests were performed by many women in a variety of professions. These wear tests confirmed that moissanite jewels out-perform most precious gemstones in terms of durability, especially when set in precious metals such as platinum or gold.
Lifetime Limited Warranty for Brilliance and Fire
Charles & Colvard, Ltd. offers consumers a limited lifetime warranty that Charles & Colvard created Moissanite jewel(s) will maintain their brilliance and fire for the lifetime of the owner. In the unlikely event that the optical properties of brilliance and fire alter in a Charles & Colvard created Moissanite jewel(s), the jewelry, along with the original receipt should be returned to the place of purchase, and the defective jewel(s) will be replaced with Charles & Colvard created Moissanite jewel(s) of equivalent value.
This warranty does not include loss, theft, disappearance, or loss of the optical properties of brilliance and fire due to incidental or intentional damage such as scraping, breakage or chipping. While Moissanite is extremely durable, it, like all fine gemstones, is not indestructible. Therefore, care should be taken to avoid sharp blows when wearing any piece of fine jewelry. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from State to State.

Charles & Colvard, Ltd. certifies that every Charles & Colvard created Moissanite jewel is an original Charles & Colvard product which has been manufactured in Charles & Colvard controlled facilities and has been produced by highly-skilled specialists using the latest technology. Moissanite jewels are released for sale only after having met stringent quality control specifications.
Moissanite Care and Cleaning
While Moissanite is extremely hard, durable and resistant to abrasion and chipping, it, like all other gemstones, is not indestructible. Care for your Moissanite jewelry just as you would other fine jewelry, taking precautions not to wear Moissanite jewelry, especially rings when doing rough work with your hands to avoid sharp blows.
Moissanite jewelry can be cleaned the same way you would other fine jewelry. Moissanite jewelry can be safely cleaned in a jewelry ultrasonic cleaner or by using a commercial (non-acid based) jewelry cleaner.
