Miken Sports makes high-performance softball and baseball bats from carbon fiber and fiberglass. Miken was started in 1997 by two men, named Mike and Kin (hence the name Miken), Jeb Griffith became a partner in the business and bought out his two partners in 1998. The business was in Hartland, WI until it moved to Caledonia, MN. Miken Composites initially made golf club shafts, but after Griffith became a partner, it switched to making softball bats. Miken Sports was purchased in 2004 by K2 Inc. of Carlsbad, CA which describes itself as the nation's largest manufacturer of sporting goods.
Miken Sports has produced some of the best Slowpitch Softball Bats to hit the market since the original Titanium and Doublewall bats back in the mid 90's. Miken uses a patented vacuum transfer molding process that it says allows its bats to be created with incredible structural qualities while maintaining low weights. The process sucks out air and allows the bats to be made with a higher fiber content than other processes, with nearly no voids or air spaces.
The 2007 Miken NRG Series Slowpitch Softball bats are the latest and greatest softball bats from Miken.
