The advertised range on all GMRS bubble pack radios is nonsense--unless you are in a tall building or at sea, you won't get anywhere near the range any of these radios advertise.

But the GXT500 will give you the best. Expect at least a couple of miles in dense urban settings.

The built in weather radio is a nice plus.
