In this world where beauty is everywhere you will seek out special treatments given by doctors, skin care companies, and over the counter remedies.  The most popular procedure right now is Microdermabrasion for the face and or body.  Many doctors offices have seen a drop in business since at home remedies became available.  Traditionally micro-derm is done in offices where they use a diamond dust or tiny aluminum fragments to remove the top layer of skin to reveal the fresh youthful skin underneath.  That also involves harsh chemicals that are as abrasive to the skin as the aluminum or diamond powder that is used.  Many women that undergo micro-derm leave the doctors office with a red irritated face that is very sensitive to light and outside pollutants, some women also experience a burning sensation.  Although there are many over the counter micro-derm kits available, that doesn't mean that they are safe for your skin.  Still you continue to see the products at your supermarket and recently at your cosmetics counter.  I have somewhat sensitive skin, and feel that most micro-derm kits "shred" my face and provide no long term results.

Through my search for the perfect micro-derm product, i found myself at the Origins cosmetics counter at my local Macy's.  i was skeptical about the product before the sales girl demonstrated it on my hand.  i thought that a natural micro-derm product was going to be about as effective as omitting the flour from a cake recipie, but i was wrong.  Origins called their product Modern Friction, but to me it was a life saver.  instead of the harsh chemicals and diamond powder or aluminum fragments, Origins uses rice starch and rice granules as a natural exfoliant so it won't harm your face and turn it beet red.  i used it at home and was amazed by the results, i had recieved the same results as i had at the doctors office but without all the pain and redness and burning (not to mention that my wallet was was thicker, Origins priced it's micro-derm at $36.00!).
