I recently bought an unlocked phone online. Of course I checked with MetroPcs first to see if there would be a problem activating this "unlocked" phone. I was told "no problem" just call us when you get the phone. Well I did call when I got the phone. This time I was told by MetroPcs that the phone was no good, that I had the wrong ESN number, etc. So I called Samsung, they checked out this phone and said there was no problem with the phone or the information I provided. I called MetroPcs again. I went through the process of denial again then asked to speak to a supervisor. I was then told that I would have to go to one of their retail outlets because the phone's serial number and ESN number would have to be entered into the MetroPcs database. It sounded logical! However, the retail outlet said only MetroPcs phones could be entered into the database and that they would have to "flash" this phone for a price of $30.00, that I would lose services such as WEB access and picture messaging, that this "flashing" may not work, and I had to sign paperwork stating that I would not not ask for a replacement phone if this "flashing" made my phone inoperable. So now I have the same phone number and can't even download any games to it. I can not go back to the vendor as they did nothing wrong. It is all on MetroPcs. I will never buy another "unlocked" phone!
