I bought this item off of an eBay store. The 3 slats looks nice on the car but it does give it this BIG look. I really like the 4 slats look but many w203 fans from several MB forum websites prefer the look of the 3 slat (per polls on the sites) so I decided to give it a try. IMHO if you like the big grille look of the w204 (2008 C-Class) then you'll like this grille too. I just think that the W204's grille is a bit on the bigger side; reminds me of the big grille look of the newer Dodge trucks. Still, I am satisfied with the look for now anyway.
One note....I have heard from forum bloggers that the big star in the middle of the grille seems to be loose when put on the grille. This is confirmed as true. Mine had the same problem. I resolved it by putting some outdoor double sided tape (those you would use to hold up your address numbers on the outside of your home) in between the chrome star and the grille as I put it on. Then I add some glue-stick glue from the back of the grille that opens to the back of the star to make sure its permanent (you can use other adhesives I would think). I can't for see any reason why I would want to remove the star from the grille in the future.
NOTE: when you do by this grille or a similar one like the 4 slats one, make sure you check the listing to see if it will include a flat hood emblem to replace your factory star on the hood. The flat hood emblem is needed to make it look nice and proper. The listing I purchased was vague and I assumed it was included as I have seen with many . The listing said it included an emblem (referring to the big star only) so I thought it referred to the flat hood emblem. When the item arrived there was no hood emblem and so I had to order one thus postponing installation of the grille. Just FYI.
