MeliMelo- A Guide to MeliMelo & Fashion
Méli-mélo fashions take their name from a French phrase which means "mixing it up." Though a very young brand (debuted in 2004), Méli-mélo has already made quite a splash with both their traditional five-pocket jeans and their fashion bodies. By fusing the timeless style of jeans with ultra modern fashion trends, they have created a number of striking but totally wearable looks.
Méli-mélo calls their denim "vintage upscale," and there is always a focus on finishing details like embroidery on the pockets or funky criss-crossed belt loops. Their jeans are often made of the finest Japanese and Italian denims, though some are also American. The weights vary, from seven to 10 oz lightweight stretch denim to 11 to 13 oz rigid denim.
One of the most distinctive touches in most Méli-mélo jeans is their silk linings. The washable European silks are found inside the pockets and the waistbands. Flap pockets can be tucked in to keep the line of the pants very clean, but can also be worn flipped out, showing the unique fabric.
Méli-mélo jeans are available in many cuts and styles, ranging from the roomy boy shorts and side braid gaucho to slimming flared leg designs, which are available in styles with cuffed hems or Méli-mélo's signature slack. Their line also includes denim skirts in classic styles such as the pencil skirt and front-pleat braid skirt. Buyers can also find outerwear in the collection, including the tie denim jacket in dark vintage denim.
