Attention all photographers and photography students!  Now is the time to take advantage of the plunging prices available on eBay for medium format film cameras.  Yes, the digital age has taken hold and many professional photographers are getting rid of their medium format cameras.  Medium format film provides image negatives up to 3 times larger than 35mm film.  Medium format is the term used for cameras using 6mm wide film (120 and 220 film - readily available on eBay or your local professional camera store).  This is the example where bigger IS better.  This film format will provide sharper, crisper photographs, and when compared to digital and 35mm, will give your audience the "Wow" factor when they look at your work.  Since many pro wedding photographers have converted to digital cameras, (provides immediate review of photos, and quicker setup times), they are "dumping" their medium format cameras for pennies on the original dollar.  It is not uncommon to have the opportunity to purchase a complete medium format camera setup, with lenses, film backs, and other accessories for a few hundred dollars when the original cost just a few years ago was a few thousand dollars.  Two of the best deals on eBay are for Bronica 6x4.5 medium format cameras (these were the main cameras used for weddings - lighter than Hasselblads, and more like 35mm hardware), and the Mamiya RB/RZ series.  Both are excellent cameras and hold up well to professional use.  These cameras can provide a life-time of service.  So, while everyone continues to spend thousands on new digital gear, take a break from digital and find the rewards of shooting with a professional film camera for a small investment!  Good luck, good bidding and remember: take lots of snapshots, get a few photographs!
