McDermott Cues, MAP Pricing, & Warranty
McDermott Cues carry a lifetime warranty, but you may not get that warranty if you buy your cue on eBay.MAP Pricing
McDermott has a suggested retail price for each cue model that they sell. There is a also a MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) on each cue, meaning that McDermott doesn't allow Authorized Dealers to advertise their products below that MAP price. McDermott allows advertised prices to be no lower than 20% off of suggested retail pricing. Many companies have a policy regarding advertised prices, it's not unusual. How does this affect you?
However, McDermott has announced, that as of August 21st, 2006, this policy will be strictly enforced. What does this all mean to you, the consumer? Well, if a dealer is listing McDermott cues below MAP (Fixed Price, or Auction starting price), that dealer may no longer be considered an Authorized Dealer by McDermott. And, McDermott will not honor the Lifetime Warranty in cases like this. Note: McDermott doesn't care what price a cue actually sells for, only the advertised price, so keep those Best Offers coming.Protect Yourself
Guarantee your ability to take advantage of the warranty and service programs that McDermott offers - amongst the best in the industry. Only purchase from Authorized Dealers who adhere to McDermott's MAP policy, who advertise prices no lower than 20% off of suggested retail.
