My husband and myself have been buying and selling antiques for thirty + years now and I want people to know that there is a lot of new McCoy and Hull on ebay now. I see pieces that I know are new just by looking at the picture.

I went on ebay to sell two pieces of pottery with U.S.A. on the bottom and I couldn't believe what I saw. I saw pieces of pottery that are the same design being sold on ebay. You would never find that many pieces of the same design that are old, especially that are being sold by the same seller. This just isn't possible.

This makes it hard for sellers who know that what they are selling is the real thing to get a decent price for it.

Please beware and take a close look! If you see a piece of pottery that you like that the seller claims to be McCoy or Hull check out his other items for sale and if he has the very same piece listed more than twice in his ebay store than you better beware.

There are some unmarked pieces of Hull that are old, especially when you can see tiny age lines in the piece. They have U.S.A. on the bottom with a number for example like 71/2 - 98. You can look that up in a Hull reference book and it will tell you that the name of the pattern is Sunglow. That it is 71/2" tall and was made in 1952 even though it doesn't have the word Hull written on the bottom you can be very sure that it is an old piece of Hull

This same thing happened about a year ago on ebay with the White House Apple Vinegar Jugs that are shapped like an Apple. I went on there because I had 3 old ones to sell and I saw sets of these jars up for sale over and over. I sent a question to one of the sellers asking if these were the old ones like she had it listed. I never heard back from her. I looked at the other items she had for sale and she had sets and sets of the same thing. I knew then that these were reproductions.

There is some pottery on ebay now that is being advertised as McCoy 6" & 10" Vases. They are a green/brown color. The 10" Vase weighs 10lbs. There are so many of these listed that there is  no way they could be old.
