Maximizing the eBay Search
If you’re on eBay and you’re looking for a great deal make sure to follow this one piece of advice to help maximize your eBay shopping experience.
When using the advanced search option be sure to check the ‘Search Titles and Descriptions’ box to open doors to even more great deals.
I’ll use an example to explain why this can help you find better deals. Say you’re looking for the DVD ‘Sin City’. If you type ‘Sin City’ into the search box you’ll find a bunch of single ‘Sin City’ DVDs that are for sale.
If you check the ‘Search Titles and Descriptions’ box you will receive a lot more search results, most will not be what you want, but the chances of finding a great deal are a lot higher. You will probably find several DVD collections that are for sale that include the ‘Sin City’ DVD as well as many other great DVDs for an overall cost per DVD that is much cheaper than the single copy you were looking to purchase.
I’ll use one more example. I was looking for a NY Yankees hat and I searched using titles only. I received a ton of results and the hat that I was interested in was $14.99 + s&h. I used the ‘ search title and description’ option and the results were a lot better. I found a 4 hat lot that featured a Yankees, Mets, Orioles, and Red Sox hat for $21.99 + s&h. $7 for 3 extra hats, a much better deal in my opinion.
It does take a little extra time to find what you’re looking for, but any time I’m looking for a specific product I use the ‘search title and description’ option to try and find the best deal possible.
