Hi,

 I'm writing this to let buyers know about the scams that go on in the Mature section of eBay. From Adult Dvd's, Novelty items, clothes etc... The product is usually CHEAP, if you havent noticed. The only problem is you'll see something that is $0.99 & if your like me & most of the shoppers, your like "WOW", & bid quickly. Thats usually the first mistake. If you browse carefully, you'll see that most items are cheap & the shipping is outrageous. For instance, I saw a dvd from a power seller that was $1.50, now that's not bad for a adult dvd, but the shipping was $13.00 via media mail, which is almost the slowest form of shipping & the cheapest (We shipped 200 Vhs' via media mail & the price was around $46 bucks, but thats for a heavy vhs & 200 of them at that) Here are a few examples & what to look for.

1. Why is the shipping so high & the item so cheap? Well, most people won't go into a store to buy adult items & let's be honest, most of us never will. Thats where they think they got you. You see the $0.99 but don't look at the shipping of around $10-20 & most of the time it's hidden. Well, no one want's an unpaid strike for something someone might see & make you a little embarresed.

1. A low price but doesnt show a shipping cost - first warning. Remember, most of these items are from people who buy them wholesale & you can usually find the same item just by searching.

2. Bid low & ask the seller a question. Alot of these sellers are non-responsive & you can learn like that. Find a 3-7 day auction from the same seller & bid the small price, ask a question & if they dont respond properly or if it sounds "to good to be true" retrack your bid.

3. You arent really protected at ALL from eBay, thats why the price is low & shipping is so high for another reason. Yea, you paid 26 bucks, but over half was shipping which doesnt qualify for the eBay protection guidelines, plus you arent allowed to pay via paypal for a mature auction.

4. There are ALOT of extremely great sellers in the mature section, you just need to find them. Just spend an extra 30 minutes searching instead of bidding so quickly.

5. We don't sell mature stuff, so we have nothing to gain by making this guide but to help people not get ripped off like we did.

6. Check their feedback, while they may or may not be a power seller or have thousands of feedback, read a little to see, they may get positives but alot of them have inside meanings, alot about shipping time, communication etc..

What happened to us;

While being a power seller & also buying my husband christmas gifts, I thought it would be nice to buy him some gag gifts. There is nothing wrong in that. I found this one power seller, now I checked their feedback, it was real nice.. BUT I failed to read it. Slow shipping, damaged products, overcharged shipping, you name it. Well I mailed out a postal money order via priority on Mon. morning Dec. 11th, now this is only 3 states from my home state. I get a reminder invoice the next monday. I figured the holiday mail, maybe just a mistake. I also noticed how fast we were recieving gifts & money orders from buyers & sellers aswell. I sent several eBay messages & even requested contact information. I called several times, the voice mail didnt work, no return emails. I file a dispute, they answer within 2 hours, emailed & called at the same time, still no answer. I paid $13.64 in shipping, it said $2.30 insurance required. I got the item Tue Dec 26th. It was in a plain bubble envelope that cost around $1-2 dollars at any wal-mart with a $1.59 postage on it, non-insured first class. Filed with SquareTrade but still no answer.

I wrote this, so that people like me (shy, won't buy adult material anywhere except online) or anyone else that buy's it, can try to save money & time.

I hope this helps atleast someone!!!
