Well when standing in the isle of the local fishing section and being over whelmed by all the lures on the market today.
I try to break it down to three key things before popping the lures in to the cart. So i dont spend to much time and waste money ect. And so the wife doesnt leave me and notices i snuck away
1. The price of course
2. What do i really need in the tackle box?
3. Would this lure catch fish or the shopper whos looking at them?
Most lures on the market are gimmicks and are intended to catch the anglers eye when shopping more than fish who they are supposedly are designed for.
Im sad to say i have been hoaxed into buying those types of lures many , many times that never worked in previous years.
But really the fasts are its all about finding that proper size presentations, and color that will trigger those fish to
bite.
heres a few colors i favor in my tackle box
Greens, black, yellows reds, whites, and some times orange
For example: If your lake is full of musky's or pike and perch well you would consider using a close color and lure size of the bait fish in that lake. Which would be the perch.. Or perhaps did you see a few leeches swimming around last time out fishing if you did try black colors.
Its all about matching your lakes food sources to your tackle box it may take a bit of investigating
BUT IT WILL PAY OFF HUGE !IN THE AMOUNT OF "Fish on!"
Hope this works for ya out on the water when catching supper :)
Good luck and make sure to have a look at what ebay has to offer on click here --> fishing lures
