When I started collecting Vaseline Glass a little more than 4 years ago I quickly I realized that the only way to verify Vaseline Glass, or any glass containing Uranium Dioxide, was by using a black light also known as an UV or Ultra violet light. The next step was buying a few to give to friends and from there I ventured into offering one small light on eBay. My offering was met with enthusiasm and many interested buyers. But it did not stop there! I soon found more and more uses for UV which I began to document and offer as a bonus in a flier with my UV lights. Now my copyrighted flier provides thumbnail information on UV to verify the condition of antiques and collectibles to ascertain if there have been repairs, repaints, glue; other uses for a black light - Cut Glass, Art Glass, Vaseline, Burmese, Custard and Green Depression Glass, Cast Iron, EAPG - Pattern Glass, Paper products, Porcelain, Stamps, Textiles, thread and cloth, Marbles, Beads, Dolls, Glass buttons, Currency, Fishing lures, Rocks, Minerals, Gems, Travelers Checks and money orders; useful also in Game hunting, Wood working, HVAC & Automotive air conditioning systems. I am selling 3 styles of the lights and enjoy the frequent email exchanges I have with buyers who share the stories of their collections with me as well as helping me to learn more when they ask a question that leads me into research.
