When I went out shopping for a tri-pod, Manfrotto was on the top of my list.  As far as the head...I really wasn't sure what I should do.  I had read that a ball head would save a photog much time and frustration but having never used one I was a bit skeptical.  While shopping for a tri pod head I came across this one.  Shopping online is good in many ways, but not being able to put one's hands on something is a bit of a problem, but the more I looked and read the more impressed I was with this head.  When I came across a tri-pod/head combo that included the 322 RC2 the price was too good.  I don't regret the purchase for a second.  This is the most versatile head I have ever used...especially after having spent so many years with a cheapo tripod/head set up.  I had a really nice Slik back in the days of 35mm but it had a panhead.  I have never known such freedom when using a tri-pod.  The grip head is a solid piece of professional equipment.  Just get the camera where you want it...and let go.  Seems a little risky at first, but after a couple shoots...my worries faded and the enjoyment began.  Needless to say...I love it.  I can't think of a situation that this head wouldn't work...if I find one I will get a pan head...as of right now...I am very content.  The 322 RC2 is easy to use, built like a tank, rock solid and can be configured to fit almost any situation...if you already have a tripod with a pan head...get one...if you are looking for a head for your tripod...get one...if you are looking to buy your first professional level set up...get one.  It works whether you are a righty or lefty....shooting flowers or portraits...even dogs...I am truly impressed with this piece of equipment.
