I have always loved Halloween. It is my favorite time of the year, now that I am a mom of two small children it's even more fun! This is a guide to help you dress up your house for those trick or treaters so they want to come to your house for those tasty treats!
I always make a graveyard in my front yard! I buy those tombstones from the store and dress them up with spider webs, snakes and spiders! I also take pots with my flowers from the summer and put them next to it! They look great because they are half dead and gives it the look of an old cemetary.
Then I take some old Halloween masks, and my husbands old jeans and flannel shirts and make ghouls. I stuff the shirt and pants with towels or newpaper and pin the shirt to the pants. Then I take a hanger and put it in the back of the shirt and attach the scary mask, that is also stuffed, with safety pins! This gives the head more stability so it doesn't fall down! I place one monster on my front bench. We take the other monster and put a long rope around its neck and hang it off a tree limb from a tree in front. We put a spot light on the tree pointing at the scary ghoul and it looks very spooky.
Next, I get those plastic, real looking pumpkins and carve them and put a battery light in them. These pumkins are better because they last season after season, instead of buying real pumpkins and having them get moldy before Halloween! I place the pumkins on hay stacks and they look great!

I hang lots of lights in the windows and bushes and have alot of spooky cut outs taped to the windows! Every year is different, but always a bunch of fun. I am looking forward to this Halloween about as much as my kids are. I also enjoy looking at how others decorated. Hope you have a safe and Happy Halloween!
