I rcently was introduced to a dispute that the buyer and myself cannot seem to come to an agreement with.
My thoughts on this subject will begin by stating that ~ eBay should make a slight change with
everyone involved with eBay. When someone is selling an item, that item is won and the buyer
wants this package delivered to a different address, other than the registered one they have with eBay, the buyer should, upon winning their item, immediately email the seller and allow them to know that they will be sending this package to a different address. This way the seller does not enter
the wrong address which is located on the "View Details" page. The seller often fills out their
form of information as soon as the invoice is sent. They take down the information necessary to
send a receipt along with the purchased item/items. Such as: The item number, what the item is,
the amount it cost, any insurance information and if they need to give a deduction in price due to
a combined shipping order, if offered to the buyer. We also write the address and name to where the package is being sent, this information is the name and address that is registered with eBay so it is automatically filled in for us.
Well, I sold an item, went to the winning page and sent the invoice. Afterwards I wrote down all the information from the "View Details" page as I stated was on there already. I packaged up the item with the receipt and readied it for shipping.
A couple of weeks later I received an email stating that the buyer never received his item. I communicated with him and immediately wrote to him and asked if the address I sent it to was his. He returned my email stating that this is his home address, which relieved me, but he then stated that he is never home and went on to say he wanted it shipped to his work place.
This package never was returned to me, which tells me someone at his home address had to receive the item or perhaps someone else took it. I feel as though I am not in the wrong because I followed every procedure there was to follow as far as making sure his package arrived at the correct and registered eBay address.
He then tried to say that I stated I would offer him a full refund, which is clearly stated on my description page that I do not accept refunds. I have had something shipped to someone and it came through broken, I certainly gave a full refund with no questions asked. I also sold something for someone and it had something wrong with it and I paid the customer what it would cost to fix it and that was done. To ask me to provide a full refund for this matter is ridiculous, since I never received the package back and the buyer "Never goes home." This is not my problem that he never goes home and if he knew this he should have registered his workplace address to begin with when he signed up with eBay. We just keep going round and round with regard to this, don't know if it will ever settle but I surely will not give a full refund.
That is why I am writing this review~Whenever you are bidding on an item and you win it PLEASE email the seller immediately so we know that it is being sent to a different address. Don't just change it on the "View Details" page and assume that the seller is going to see this address because we have a consistency in our ways.
Thanks very much for reading this review I hope it helps everyone and I surely hope eBay reads this and understands my point of view.
Sincerely,
Diane. L. Pennestri.
