In order to make your buying experience a good one eBay has developed multiple methods of communicating between trading partners (sellers & buyer). We all need from time to time to communicate with eBay sellers as a power seller we try to provide a fast an efficient way for everyone to communicate with us. Please read all disclaimers when leaving a message via the eBay message system some sellers will ask for at least 1 business day(s) before any messages are replied to.
Most power sellers have dedicated 800 numbers (toll free) that are only for eBay customers, most of these toll free numbers are in operation during normal business hours. As a power seller we all try to make the communication process as stream line as possible, but at times find it impossible when buyers try to circumvent the system. You would be surprised on how many buyers call a number leave a message and expect a call back within 30 minutes on non-customer service lines.
Here are some basic tips that you should go by when contacting customer service for any seller:
1. Please call the right number - Make sure that you are calling the number that the seller has setup for eBay sales. Listen to any messages or prompts this will help us and you expedite and find a resolution to your proble.
2. Have your Item Number - Make sure that you have your eBay item number ready for the customer service agent. This will cut the time that you have to be on the phone with the agent.
3. Be Clear - No matter how many people call us we get form time to time people who do not know what they are talking about? Please think out the problem you are having so the agent can better serve you.
4. Try not to be rude - The agent who is receiving your call is there to help you! Do not insult him/her that will only get you negative results or delays in the resolution of your issues.
If you follow these four basic tips it will make your customer service experience a better one!
