Here is how you can spend less for bigger glittering diamond stones:
Rule 1 : How to select the diamond?
- Consider fancy shape, especially the elongated shapes usally look larger that round diamonds.
- Keep in mind that shallow cut diamond looks larger but do trade off with the stones' brilliance due to ineffective light reflection.
Ruel 2 : how to select the diamond setting?
- Pave' setting looks like a continuous surface of diamonds, but is actually made up of small diamonds set side by side into little holes, their surfaces nearly level with the settings.
- Illusion setting is mouted to a mirror-like plate before set into the band, making it look larger, with more brilliance ( though the downside is that it is more difficult to repair)
- Choose the ring with side stones. Well, though small diamonds set into the band on either side of a center stone won't necessarly make the focla diamond look larger, but can give a more overall pizzazz.
- Select a Bezel Set Diamond , where a rim totally circles the stone. White gold or platinum will blend with and enhancea white diamond, making it appear larger. A yellow gold bezel setting can throw a yellowish tint back onto the diamond.
