I no longer run a Bath & Body business, but I still LOVE those long, relaxing soaks in the tub. To take a "plain bath" is just, well....unheard of! So kick up your heels, light a candle, put in a relaxing CD and INDULGE yourself with this basic recipe that uses ordinary kitchen ingredients!
All of these ingredients are wonderful for your skin : hydrating the skin, improving skin texture and tone, and softening! You'll feel like a queen in this delightful bath!
(Note: people with allergies or health problems should consult a doctor before use)
OATMEAL, MILK & HONEY BATH SOAK
1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup whole milk powder
Optional: 1/4 Cup Epsom Salts
Directions: If you have a muslin bag, place all ingredients in the bag and place under the running water. Then you can use the bag as a washcloth to massage the skin. Relax & Enjoy!
If you don't have a muslin bag (like most people), then use a coffee filter to wrap the oatmeal in. Secure with a string or rubber band. Pour the honey and milk powder (and Epsom salts) directly into the bath water and stir until dissolved.
HINT: Use whole milk powder instead of Non-Fat Milk powder - you want the fat in this case!! The best place to find Whole Milk Powder is at Wal-Mart or your grocery store in the ethnic (Mexican) food isle. Look for a yellow canister called NIDO (Whole Milk Powder). You can also find whole milk powder at some specialty health stores, online or here on ebay. In a pinch, you can use regular Whole Milk (liquid) - but you need to use much more since it's not concentrated. (Maybe 2-3 cups)
