Comes With Resale Rights.
Heard Them All Huh.
But Have You Heard Fraud, Scam, Copyright Violations, Publishing Rights Violation.
From The Beatles to Star Wars, The New New York Yankees to Ipods, Marshall to Les Paul, Stratocaster to Telecaster, we have things in this country called Copyrights.
Be very careful while lusting for that get rich quick dream.
There's a nasty little bug going round called "Resell Right Fever".
Ripping off the Beatles and other Misconceptions
Yes, we've all seen the ads. In fact I've seen some quite sad or funny (depending on your perspective). I've seen Ebooks going round offering Resell rights to Beatles Song because they are in the Public Domain or seller has been granted Resell Rights.
Ok, what's wrong with this picture. Perhaps it's because I'm a working Musician with a B.S. in Music who has spent most of his life in the music business several things smack me dead in the face.

THE BEATLES ARE NOT IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN
-
Even in the way off event one has actually paid the MPA fees etc. and has actually been granted permission to resell the songs in a collection form, there's the little problem of price as the $1.89 to $4.99 they usually go for hardly covers the fees of over 200 songs plus production of the product.

And let's assume for a moment no.2 is actually true, that dose not grant you the legal right to offer resale rights to others.
And this is one of several cases I've seen, The Rolling Stones / Queen / Pink Floyd to name a few more, non of which are Public Domain material.
I've also seen a 6 book collection of guitar lessons floating round with...You Guessed it Resell Rights. Now I don't know who actually owns five of the books, or if they even know there products being bought and resold, but one book in particular is a song collection with copyright and publishing right violated material containing songs such as Free Bird and Sweet Child of Mine and Smells Like Teen Spirt (Public Domain, Yea Right!). And best of all they offer Resell Rights to music they don't own! Furthermore they invite you to do the very same thing. Nice.
Another Seller was offer a Disc full of 100,000 Tabs, or something to that effect. Of course, this is all very illegal seeing how he dozen't own the music and hasn't (nor could afford to) pay the actual Publishing fees for the songs. But wait, there's more. Not only do you get one disc full of illegal music, you get yet a second disc. What's on the second disc? Well about 90 books, one of which caught my attention seeing as how it shared the same title to one of my own copyrighted works. When I asked who the Author was he gave me a nice little, "I Don't Think I like the Tone of Your Question" reply. Sorry, I found it a fair question. As it turns out it wasn't my work, but somebody elses he stole off the internet. Well, sorry buddy if you don't have the authors permission to distribute and resell his work, you my friend are breaking the law.
This is where that nasty Resell Right Fever Bug comes in, cause guess what going to happen sooner or later to some unsuspecting victim. They're going to progress from Resell Right Fever straight to big ol MPA hefty fine syndrome or chronic jail time.
Now if your one of the unknowing relax, simply stop pushing your product if anyone asks claim ignorance and you'll probably walk away with a slap or the wrist or light fine. If your one of the ones living the Get Rich Quick Dream by pushing illegal items on unsuspecting victims, you ain't getting off so easy.
What's my point?
Simple: It's to my belief that a fair number of the people selling theses items simply don't know any better. They caught Resell Right Fever and forgot to do there homework. Some may actually belive in a plce called Never-Never Land.
What's my goal?
To make potential unsuspecting victims aware of the situation. My first thought was how can people be so stupid until I realized having spent years in the Music Business things that I consider everyday common knowledge can be somewhat esoteric to the layperson.
Which brings me to my next point: I used the above examples of Music because that's what I know. However, there's tons of items offering resell right floating around some are legal and some are not. But, how do you know. Are you really sure the person granting you permission to resale there product actually holds the copyright and publishing rights. Did you ask? Did you get it in writing? Did you see the paperwork. Well you better be sure cause the way life rolls sometimes it ain't the crook who gets caught, it's the unsuspecting victim caught in the crossfire.
I'm not telling you what to do, I'm simply saying beware. Inquire about a product before you start pushing it. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is. I see ads for Master Guitar in a week all the time. Sound too good to be true? Seeing as how that's my instrument I'd be greatly insulted if you even had to ask. If it looks and feels like a Scam...
BTW, most Get Rich Quick Resell Rights Junk is simply that Junk. Some give it away cause no one would actually buy it, and it's full of links and such to there products. Your not Getting Rich Quick, you're doing there advertising for them. Other's attach that phrase to products they don't even own to lure you into that Get Rich Quick Dream. The few that actually do get Rich do so by charging you $29.99 on up to hundreds of dollars, (a very small investment that you'll quadruple overnight, as they say, of course they say, the more they say it, the more they make) for worthless pieces of information no one would actually buy. Well, ok you bought it but not for the information. You bought it for that almighty Never-Never Land Dream.
Having said that, in spite of all the junk, there are actually good legal informative products out there. I'm not trying to bring the whole informational world down. It's the one's screaming RESELL RIGHTS you gotta watch for cause see something's wrong with the picture. As a creative mind be it Writer of Book or Song, Inventor etc. if something's yours: You Ain't Giving It Away. If I really thought my book would sell in the millions would I Give You Resell Rights? If you really knew your book would sell in the millions would you give me Resell Rights? Well, I would hope so but I'm not gonna start counting my pennies just yet. Further more would you sell me the rights to this great book for .99 (of course you could charge up to $650 for this fine information, right).
The MPA had just recently launched a massive campaign against musical resource site offering interpretations of copyrighted material. Now if one's going to go this hard after those giving away for free they're interpretation of a song, what exactly do you thinks going to happen to those actually selling the illegal products. I know most people live under the "It'll never happen to me blanket", but consider the massive amount of exposure Ebay brings along with the fact your items usually rank pretty high on search engines like Google. Well, it don't take to much effort at all for violaters to fall right into the enforcers laps.
Consider this a public service message and do with the information what you will, if you've no problem stealing peoples livelihood then go on pushing your products (and by all means don't forget to slam this guide, with the non helpful button). If your one of the unsuspecting consider yourself informed and use the information wisely, it could save you down the road.
