I have decided to add this page to inform my buyers about magnetic bottles and why I do not include this option opinly on my site.

The biggest reason is rust !!!

Magnets are coated with metal and when metals are exposed to liquids for long periods of time they will rust.  And the magnets that are allowed to float free inside the bottle are exposed to it 100% of the time.  And in time they will rust, and I'm sure you don't want to waste your hard earned money on a product that will look nice now for the moment but won't in the future.

These neodymium earth magnets are not meant to be exposed to fluids for continious long periods of time.   (Yes I found out the hard way when a customer informed me of this, thank goodness I rarely made them.)

I will make them upon request only, but only when the customer understands the risks and takes responsiblity themselves if their bottle doesn't last and the magnets begin to rust.

My baby alive bottles are different.  Even tough a magnet is used, the process is different.  The magnet is never exposed to the liquid inside the bottle, instead it's placed in the tip of the nipple and fully surrounded and sealed in by the special sealant that I use.   So they fall into another category.

While I know it's possible to seal the magnets to the underside of the sealing disk, but then you run into a whole new set of problems.  The direction of the magnet can't be changed once it's sealed inside the bottle.  And so it's a toss up of a 50/50 chance if the magnet will line up and match with the magnet that has alreayd been placed inside your doll.   I don't think many buyers are willing to take those kinds of odds because they want to buy a product they know will work with their doll.

Thanks for understanding my reason's for choosing to inform the public on the risks of wanting a magnetic bottle.   I want buyers (no matter where they buy their item) to have an informed purchase so they have a quality product they will be happy with in the future.

I have been making these bottle for several years now, and I know what works and what doesn't.   I have done my homework to figure out many mysteries and I like to educate my buyers on some of the basic facts so they don't waste their money.
