The latest new is in; magicJack is the greatest, I'd say it is the best value in phone service I have ever seen! I have it, I love it, if you don't then there is a cure, get a magicJack and or give them away as gifts to everyone you know (or even strangers) all will love you and be amazed by your savvy purchase.

Monthly phone bills should and one day will be an antiquated thing of the past. magicJack can make this happen for you today, that's right, now not at some distant future time. So get with the program and get one today!

Below is an edited compilation of responses I gave to some nay sayers, in it you will find information and comparisons of this new amazing product.

My response to someone blaming magicJack for a shipping problem

I have learn in life that just about anything that can happen will happen to someone at sometime, such as the USPS losing a shipment twice or any number of human errors in the shipping process, which is what it seems has happened to you. The only thing magicJack did was to attempt to solve your problem, then promptly refund your money as you said "magicJack refunded my money with no questions asked", like a responsible company should.

It seems to me because of shipping problems with the highly unreliable USPS, that you're going to call magicJack a bad deal? That I say is an unfair assessment. I have yet to find a reliable source that calls magicJack a scam. The articles I have read only touted them as having a successful product and a company with a reliable business plan/operating strategy unlike other Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services. I had, like the vast majority of new customers, no problem with shipping, you did that is unfortunate, that however does not change the fact that is the most praised product I have ever research before buying. Bottom line is the product and the product is all that it claims to be and more. I admit I too can be a bit of a hothead at times when things don’t go right with my dealing, but when I “Zen” myself back to earth I come to see things with an object view again.

My advice is don't miss out on the best thing in phone service to ever come along because of rare shipping issues, what happened to you is not impossible to have occurred solely because of an error on the part of the USPS and I doubt they have helped you in anyway. Plus you have no proof who's fault is really was, so why blame magicJack when they at least did something about it, refunded your money.

I am saving more with out a monthly phone bill than it has cost me to switch from dial-up to the high speed cable internet need to run it. Even the over rated Vonage can't say that. Think about it, it was costing me more to have the cheapest dial-up and a standard no frills phone line without free long distance than it cost me now to have high speed and magicJack with free long distance, cheap internal calls and multiple free services that I never had before. magicJack is the real deal.

A compilation of my response to those who have complained about a bunch of unfounded nonsense or out right lies, are having problems due to their own lack of knowledge and/or common sense or generally seem to be just trying to get "poor me" attention.

For those listening to complainers, don't get hijacked away from a truly great product by whining nay sayers. For me the device arrived faster than the site projected, the device does work and I have had minimal issues with clarity, once I had to contact them with a technical issue, no problems with technician good customer service, issue was my modem not the device, I reset my modem issue resolved. There is always a percentage of complaints both legitimate and unfounded, do your own independent research of reputable sources like PC Magazine, don't just take my word (also see my comments above) or the word of people with an complaint based agenda, In the big picture I'm sure you will find it overwhelmingly positive.

You have to determine for yourself if it works for you. If you read thought the information provided on the site (that some claim is not there, when there it is) scroll to the bottom of their home page and use the link titled; FAQ's/Knowledgebase, here you will find information on what magic jack is and is not, what does and does not do, and most any question you may have about the device and service. If after that you find it's not for you so be it, do not buy the cheapest non-cell phone real phone number and phone access currently available. The biggest draws back I've found is not all local numbers are available at this time (not and issue to me) and it has to be plugged into a USB port of a computer actively connected to the internet (it says so on the site and on there late night TV infomercial, it's not a secret that they are trying to hide), if these are a major problem for you don't buy it and complain about them. But if your issue is you can't or don't want to have an always on computer or not having a local number, then one option is you can have your inbound calls forwarded to another number, like your cell phone. This can be either full time or just when you shut down your computer for the night. However with the free voice mail forwarded to email it doesn't matter if you have it disconnected and/or not forwarded while you're out.

Recently I went out to eat at place with free wifi, so I took my laptop with my microphone headset and the Magic Jack device, I sat at an outside table (no power outlet) then set things up and called my best friend in Ohio and talked till my computer said it was running out of battery power, no problems. I've made and received many calls with my magicJack with crystal clear clarity. Back when I was in Air Force during initial radio contact we'd ask "how are you reading me?" You would responded with how they came through for both loud and clear on a scale of 1-5 (5 being best) i..e. "you're 5 by 5", I'd say 99% of the time so far with Magic Jack it has been "5 by 5".

Look at what you pay and what you get, I paid a total of $46.90 (tax and shipping included) for the device and a year of service, be realistic. If you want the phone company keep them (or get them) and pay through the nose. How about VoIP through your high speed internet/cable provider? It saves you little if any over the Phone Company or Vonage depending on who you use, as compared to magicJack. What about Vonage? Great features included I have no complaints about their service, but cheapest way is by paying for a year up front, that’ll cost you over $300.00 (most taxes included) and that's not including the cost of the device. It's important to note their future is cloudy due to major financial losses (nine figures plus future royalties) from being sued and losing in court for their patent infringements of other major phone carrier patents. What about Skype; According to the information on their web site Skype charges for “premium offerings” that include making and receiving calls to and from landlines (non-Skype) and mobile phones, voicemail and call forwarding. For $30 per year (plus device cost) you can get SkypeIn phone number for those outside the Skype network to call directly into Skype. Also from what I've heard they also have a reputation for poor or inconsistent connection quality.

MagicJack has a real phone number like a traditional land line, except no call can be made or received that are billable like collect or 900 numbers (This is the norm with the VoIP type of phone lines). What do you get? All of the following at no additional cost: local calls, long distant calls (US and Canada), directory assistance, call waiting, voice mail and caller ID, pre-paid international calling to many countries for pennies a minute. My TOTAL initial cost for device and year of service was $46.90, (renewals available at 19.95 per year) that's it no other charges, and as I said earlier it's costing me less to get more. Seems pretty simple to me.

Though some have legitimate issue, when it comes to magicJack most complainers are over reacting self important fool trying to get attention. "Gosh things didn't go perfect for me so I'll just try and rain on everybody else's parade to gain sympathy". Don’t listen to this group who are losing out and make yourself a loser too, get one and join in “teh (the) win”.

 Arizona-rick

P.S. I'm not selling anything but my opinion, I have no hidden agenda and I DO NOT have any affiliation with magicJack, it's employees, owners or affiliates in anyway other than being a customer.
